For the first time since Kosovo's independence in 2008, the prime ministers of Serbia and Kosovo met in Brussels on 19 October. Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs, held talks with Ivica Dačić (right) and Hashim Thaci (left) for more than an hour, after which she stated that they had "agreed to continue the dialogue to normalize relations between the two parties." Both states are seeking accession to the EU.
