Religion: Pontifices maximi

The curse of Jesuit dogma!
On the occasion of his first encounter with the press on March 16, Pope Francis, the first ever Jesuit pontiff, remarked that he "would like to see a church that is poor and is for the poor".
He will be formally enthroned on March 19 in Rome, in the presence of numerous international leaders including the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy.
In the wake of the European summit on March 14 and 15, Van Rompuy appealed to Europeans to be patient, and affirmed that austerity measures advocated by the EU will require more time before they show positive results.
