Damn! Still there!

Troubles continue to circle German Defence Minister Thomas de Maiziere since he scrapped plans to continue German involvement with the Euro Hawk surveillance drone, which has already cost half a billion euros.

The news, revealed by Der Spiegel, came as particular blow since De Maiziere had previously announced that Germany was planning to buy 16 of the unmanned military aircraft, which can also be armed, between now and 2016.
