The Dutch expression “to sell turnips like they were lemons” means to rip someone off.

Following the lead of their Belgian counterparts, the national railway of the Netherlands put an end to its contract with Italian company AnsaldoBreda to provide trains for the Fyra high speed line linking Amsterdam and Brussels. With operations plagued by unresolved technical problems from the start, the Italian company was judged "not reliable enough" to continue with the project.
