UK-Syria: First lady in the commander seat?
16 July 2013
According to a government minister cited in The Times, British first lady Samantha Cameron is the “biggest explanation” for Prime Minister David Cameron’s push to send arms to Syrian rebels.
Cameron’s wife, who visited a Syrian refugee camp in Lebanon in March, said she was “horrified to hear the harrowing stories” from children she met there, reports the British daily. The prime minister’s office denied the first lady has any such influence over the country’s decisions.
