Poland registered the fastest e-commerce growth in Europe, enthuses the conservative daily, with its largest auction site Allegro increasing its 2012 revenue by 17 per cent to more than 10bn zlotys (€2.5bn).

In total, Poles spent 24bn zlotys (€6bn) on the net last year (an increase of more than 30 per cent). According to the daily, the economic slowdown and austerity resulted in Poles turning to the Internet as a source of cheaper products.
