German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble, warned against a change of direction on austerity, as France and sources at the European Commission criticise the effects of adjustment policies in southern Europe, after the results of the elections in Italy.
The European recession and the uncertainty linked to the Italian politics “are two sides of the same coin: the German method is reaching its limits,” according to the daily.
