‘Champions of optimism’

Poles are much more optimistic about their future and current economic situation than Czechs, Hungarians or Slovaks, according to a CBOS poll published by Gazeta Wyborcza.

As many as 40 per cent of Polish respondents describe the economic situation of their families as good, compared to 36 per cent of Czechs, 23 per cent of Slovaks and only 13 per cent of Hungarians sharing the same opinion. GW continues –

Poles see that the economic situation is improving. According to a monthly CBOS survey, in July respondents had better opinions of their standard of living, companies they worked for and showed less anxiety about losing their jobs. Fresh statistical data confirms that Polish companies have secured new orders, increased production and stopped large scale redundancies. Moreover, unemployment – in July at 13.1 per cent – has been declining since the spring.
