The Netherlands is to have its own “national WikiLeaks,” announces Trouw. On September 9, a group of 15 Dutch media companies launched the website, Publeaks.nl, a space where whistleblowers can anonymously post documents, videos and images that reveal wrongdoing.
Access to files posted on the site will be restricted to media titles selected by the whistleblowers, explains Trouw, which points out that the main innovation of Publeaks.nl is that —
… virtually all of the major players in the Dutch media will collaborate with the site. In other countries, media companies do not offer secure access to whistleblowers, or they do so via their own sites.
