The purchase of 6 per cent of Spanish construction company FCC for €113m, by Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, shows that "foreign investment in Spain is consolidating," reports Spanish financial daily Expansión.
This "trend should increase in coming months," says the paper, adding that foreign investments have already reached €30bn in 2013 —
… because the substantial improvement in the risk premium [on the country's debt] will inevitably be accompanied by greater interest from investors.

Furthermore, Expansión says that statistics, published by the Bank of Spain on October 22, confirm that Spain is coming out of recession with GDP growth of 0.1 per cent in the third quarter of 2013.
