The Namur-based daily Vers l'Avenir, now known as L'Avenir, was founded in 1918 and is one of Belgium's main local newspapers. It is Catholic in line and aimed at a general market. It belongs to the Editions de l'Avenir group, which publishes several local papers in Wallonia and owns the station Radio Nostalgie Belgique. Editions de l'Avenir is in its turn part of the Corelio group, whose publications include De Standaard.
